Since I was first trained as a loan officer in 1979 for the mortgage industry I often look back to reflect on the wonderful people and home owners I have worked with, met and helped provide mortgage financing for. It is my pleasure to continue to produce loans and work with home buyers and home owners needing mortgage financing. Many of these customers are referred to me from real estate agents that have trusted me and Bay Equity to provide the quality service needed. Additional referral sources include builders, tax advisers, attorneys, financial planners and past customers. Bay Equity is a California based, family owned direct lender approved with FHLMC, FNMA, GNMA (conventional, FHA and VA loans) and other institutional vendors.
Whether it was my first home loan closing for a home buyer (about $73,000 in 1979) or a loan of $2,600,000 in the recent few years it is never about the numbers but the people I have worked with over the years. I was told initially when I was entering the business being detailed in your work is only part of the job. Understanding how to qualify borrowers by reviewing documentation carefully is vital to my job but most important is communicating consistently to each borrower, agent and others involved in a transaction. Communicating means being available when needed. Answering the phone and following up is what my team does.
Recently I have become affiliated with Loans To Heroes. This is a program that as a lender we give back to our veterans with reduced closing costs. Working with the military personnel providing VA loans has been inspiring throughout my career. Teachers, police, fire fighters and medical professionals are also eligible for the Loans To Heroes benefits.
In 1983 I accepted my first managing position in the mortgage industry. Hiring and training loan officers with one goal in mind has been enjoyable and rewarding. That goal was to help our newest loan officers achieve the proper training and mentoring I could provide on a daily basis. This continues as well today.
Since 1979 I have had the pleasure of working closely with real estate agents and other referral sources. Developing a lasting relationship built on trust, performance and integrity has helped me build my business.
