With previous careers in home building and finance journalism, Laura brings a rare and unique understanding of home buying to Century’s amazing Bowling Green office—and she will put it to work for you!
After earning her English degree from Centre College, Laura worked for University of Kentucky Athletics, then moved to Washington, DC, as a sportswriter with USA Today. She quickly realized that buying was better than renting–yet she faced a very tough market for a single female buyer. But a great loan officer helped her finance the perfect house, and its equity helped Laura build lifetime financial strength.
Now Laura wants to “pay it forward” to you! With more than 15 years writing housing finance articles for The Washington Post, AARP and the National Association of Home Builders, she has heard hundreds of people’s home-buying stories and will use their experiences to safely guide you to your dream home.
Laura also loves talking sports–she was a four-year All-Conference volleyball player at Centre and was named the 1994 NCAA Woman of the Year for Kentucky. She has since been named the 2006 Distinguished Young Alumna and a member of the Centre College Athletic Hall of Fame.
Laura firmly believes there is no “spare time” when it comes to helping clients, but when she is free, she enjoys playing guitar, shooting, and watching sunsets on her farm with the world’s dumbest (but cutest!) Bassett hound, Moe.
